ABOUT THE PSA/MINI 1.6THP HPFP

These pumps are found on the 1.6 THP EP6DT ,EP6CDY,EP6FDT turbo engines used by BMW Mini (N14 and N18), Peugeot, and Citroen cars.  

                          This is a highly engineered pump, designed to deliver fuel at pressures over 130BarG.  

Unfortunately, these are prone to failure over time due to the nature of their design.

This failure manifests itself with the mileage of the vehicle as low as 60000 to 70000 miles on the clock..

Where on cold startup, you will get an erratic idling and multiple misfires of the engine.

Getting progressively worse over a short time,with the illumination of the Engine management light along with various engine codes. 

Among these CODES Is the P0087 Low fuel pressure code,

At this point, the solution is

1  Having the pump replaced with a new Original unit.{Very costly)

2  Buying one of the greyed units shipping from China. ( We advise doing your research well before buying one of these. )

3. Buy a used second-hand one.(Unless you know how many miles the pump has clocked this will be a gamble)

4. Send your old faulty unit to us for servicing and repair.
